The Index of Retail Prices for March 2015 stood at 165.5 points, representing a decline of 0.6 per cent when compared with the 166.4 points recorded the previous month.

Increases were recorded for Fuel and Light by 2.0 per cent; Clothing and Footwear by 1.1 per cent; and Housing by 0.1 per cent.

Decreases were registered for Food by 1.4 per cent; Transportation by 0.6 per cent; Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco as well as Household Operations and Supplies by 0.4 per cent each; and Medical and Personal Care by 0.2 per cent.??Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous remained constant over the period.

Between January 2014 and January 2015, the Index of Retail Prices decreased by 0.9 per cent, from 166.9 to 165.5 points. The average inflation rate for that period was 1.6 per cent.
