Ten retired public health nurses will be hounoured by their peers this Saturday, October 2.

The Public Health Nurses Social Affairs Committee has planned to honour those who retired, during the period April 2009 to July 2010, in a ceremony at the Divi Southwinds Beach Resort, in Christ Church.??????

The ceremony, which is being held under the patronage of Minister of Health, Donville Inniss and the Chief Public Health Nurse, Joyce Holder, starts at 6:30 p.m. Minister Inniss will deliver the feature address.

According to Ms. Holder "these nurses have made an invaluable contribution to the health and well-being of the people of Barbados and deserve their respect".

The retired individuals include two senior health sisters, Olreka Grosvenor from the Winston Scott Polyclinic and Marvo Shorey from Randal Phillips Polyclinic, as well as health sisters Juliette Browne, Sandra Bynoe, Mary Hinds, Eileen Cadogan, Marva Odle, Cynthia Clarke, Joan Flemings and Cynthia Thompson-Perch.

Senior officers and staff of the Ministry of Health will also be in attendance.??jgill@barbados.gov.bb
