The Barbados Museum & Historical Society, like many other local non-profit organisations, has been impacted by the prevailing economic challenges.
As a result of the sharp diminution of Government’s financial subvention, the Museum Council has been exploring ways of maintaining the stability of programmes and staff, while in no way harming the integrity of the institution and its long history of service.
To this end, the Council is accelerating its exploration of avenues which will allow for the preservation of employee jobs, while at the same time raising the Museum’s revenues.
The Council continues to work collaboratively with staff so as to gain maximum input into its deliberations and action plan for the future. Within the next two weeks, the Council will be engaged in a comprehensive review of the Museum’s programmes and policies. It will lay the foundation for an even more profitable, efficient and nationally relevant institution.
