Members of the public who wish to participate or have questions concerning the Environmental Protection Department’s (EPD) photo-essay competition, are advised that the telephone number for that department has changed. The new number is 535-4600, while the fax number remains 228-7103.

The photo-essay competition is open to persons between the ages of eight and 18, who are enrolled in a registered educational institution.

They are invited to submit entries on one of the topics – Why is the environment important to us? How can we play our part in protecting the environment? or What has Barbados done, or is doing to protect the environment?

Students may enter in the eight to 11 year age group; the 12 to 15 or the 16 to 18 category. Entrants should not have passed their 19th birthday by the entry deadline.

Each photo-essay submitted should comprise a series of five images that express the candidate’s view on the topic of his or her choice, and have a summary not exceeding 50 words, which clearly expresses the main message of the set of images.

All entries, accompanied by an entry form and images, should be submitted via email to snapit2016@gmail.com no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 7. Entry forms may be downloaded [media-downloader media_id=”18811″ texts=”here.”]
