The Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health will deploy Environmental Health Officers, this Saturday, February 2, to distribute rodent bait, free of charge, to residents of St. George, in an effort to reduce the number of reported Leptospirosis cases.

Between 9:00 a.m. and noon, officers will be posted at Sam’s Bar, Glebe Land, (near the St. George Parish Church), Taitt Hill Bar and The Bridge Supermarket in Charles Rowe Bridge.??

The Officers will provide persons who live in, or are passing through the area, with information on appropriate baiting techniques, diseases transmitted by rodents and will take orders for bait stations which may be purchased for a nominal fee.

Free rodent bait is also available from the Vector Control Unit, located at Jemmott’s Lane in St. Michael, during the work week.??
