Members of the public are being encouraged to sign-up for this year’s Run Tsunami Run 5K Walk and Run scheduled for Sunday, March 24, at 4:00 p.m.

The event will start at the Brighton junction, Brighton Road to Highway 1 (Carlton/A1), then continue on to the St. Stephen’s Hill junction with Highway 1 to Goddard’s Road.

The return journey will also be through St. Stephen’s Hill Road, Ellerslie School Road to its junction with Highway 1 at Stanmore Terrace, Highway 1, to the Frank Worrell Roundabout and Spring Garden Highway to Wiesers.

Participants are encouraged to contact the Department of Emergency Management at 438-7575 to register for the walk, which will allow them to be eligible for some of the prizes on offer.

This is the final event to mark Coastal Hazards Awareness Month, which is being celebrated under the theme: Safety and Security of the Blue Economy.

The month of activities was coordinated by the Technical Standing Committee on Coastal Hazards, which is co-chaired by the Director of the DEM, Kerry Hinds, and the Director of Coastal Zone Management Unit, Dr. Leo Brewster.
