The provision of an Honorary Consul of Barbados to Russia was among the areas discussed today, when Russia???s Ambassador, Nikolay Smirnov, paid a courtesy call on Permanent Secretary Charles Burnett.
Permanent Secretary Burnett received the Ambassador on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
During the meeting at the Ministry, the two officials discussed how both countries stood to benefit at the bilateral level with the appointment of an Honorary Consul.??
Barbados and Russia established diplomatic ties on January 29, 1993.
