This island’s first World Championship medal holder, Ryan Brathwaite, will be honoured this Friday, September 18, by his alma mater, Lawrence T. (L.T.) Gay Memorial School.

Principal Beverley Parris, said prior to the day, the week would be dedicated to providing information about Ryan and the entire school would be focussed on his achievements.

On his arrival, Ryan will be met by a welcoming party, including the Head Girl, Head Boy and Principal.

Immediately following this, a half-hour programme, featuring rhythm poetry, dance and song, will take place.

Those expected at the event include the Principal and students of Ryan’s other alma mater, the Lester Vaughan School; past and present members of staff; and parents. Ryan’s present and past coaches are also expected to attend.????
