Barbadian citizens are invited to apply for scholarships offered by Cuba for the 2019/2020 academic year.

Applicants must be between ages 18 and 24, and must have a minimum of five subjects at CSEC Level, inclusive of at least three of the following four subjects:  Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at Grades 1 or 2.  Additionally, English Language is compulsory for all areas of study.

The scholarships are available in medicine for undergraduates. For postgraduates, the areas are: Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, General Surgery, Hygiene and Epidemiology. 

Persons must submit their academic qualifications; a general health certificate, including HIV status and a pregnancy test (for females); a Police Certificate of Character; an original birth certificate and 10 passport-size photographs. Applicants should be prepared to travel by the last week of August 2019.

For further information and application forms, interested persons should visit the Tertiary Section of the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, “The Elsie Payne Complex”, Constitution Road, St. Michael, where completed application forms should be submitted by Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
