The St. Michael School will celebrate 87 years on Thursday, May 7, with a Founder???s Day Service at The Cathedral Church of St. Michael and All Angels.

The service, which will be held under the theme Aspiring To Excellence, will be conducted by The Very Reverend Dr. Frank Marshall at 9:00 a.m.

Principal, Dr. Yvette Mayers, will deliver remarks and present awards to one staff member and a representative of the Parent Teachers Association, both of whom have contributed significantly to the Schools??? Positive Behaviour Management Programme.

Later in the day, a cocktail reception, in honour of former student and West Indies cricketer, Jason Holder, will be held in the school???s auditorium at Martindale???s Road, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, The St. Michael???s School???s Alumni is also celebrating the 87th anniversary with its Give Back 87 initiative. Past and present students are being asked to make a contribution of $1.00 for each year of the school???s existence, in order to maintain the facility and to continue its standard of excellence.

However, those unable to reach this target are being encouraged to donate $1 or more for every year spent at the school. On May 7, 1928, the school was officially established as St. Michael???s Girls??? School.

The school was renamed The St. Michael School after the enrolment of 30 boys on September 10, 1979.
