An art and craft exhibit by secondary schools will form a big part of the work on display at Agrofest 2012 this weekend, in Queen’s Park.

The Schools’ Industrial Arts Craft and Technology Exhibition, spread across Booths 49 to 52, will showcase a wide range of work done by students both at the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) level and in the classroom, in general.

These exhibits will be up for public viewing on all three days, February 24 to 26, from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. They will include electrical pieces, woodwork, metal work, cabinet construction as well as architectural drawings.

Schools will include St. Lucy, St. Leonard’s Boys’, Alma Parris, Grantley Adams, Foundation, and Alleyne.

Education Officer (Technical and Vocational), Henderson Wiltshire said that a highlight of the booths will be the architectural drawings which most schools have submitted.?? He added: "We will just be displaying good work done by students. We will have exhibits of excellent work done for CXC as well as internal work in textile, craft, basketry and other areas."

He noted that on Friday, February 24, from 2:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. there will be a special presentation of awards and trophies to students whose work has been deemed outstanding and?? that?? the architectural firm of Gillespie and Steel would be offering a two-week job attachment to the best house plan/architectural drawing on display.
