Twenty students from George Lamming Primary School will have the opportunity to form relations with a Washington-based elementary school next week.

This is when the Embassy of Barbados in Washington DC, organises an online link-up on Friday, June 9, between the Barbadian students and their overseas counterparts from Watkins Elementary School in the USA.

The event, which will be held in the IT Lab at the school in Flint Hall, St. Michael, runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It will be conducted via Skype and moderated by Ambassador to the USA and Permanent Representative to the Organisation of the American States, Selwin Hart.

During the one-hour session, the nine to 11-year-old students will exchange their views on climate, through presentations on: How does climate change affect my community and my country, and what can I do to reduce my carbon footprint?

Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ronald Jones, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean, are expected to attend.
