The Media Resource Department (MRD) will once again host the Schools’ Exhibit at this year???s Barbados Manufacturers??? Exhibition (BMEX), at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC), Two Mile Hill, St. Michael.

BMEX 2016 runs from Friday, May 13, to Monday, May 16, and will showcase the work of students in the Sugar Mill Room of the LESC.

These will include hydroponics, solar powered displays, scientific literacy, as well as gardening in small spaces.

Additionally, the work of winners from the inaugural Electricity and Renewable Energy Science Exposition, hosted by the MRD in partnership with the Barbados Light and Power Company Ltd (BL&P), will also be highlighted.

The winners in the primary section of that competition were: Cuthbert Moore Primary – 1st Place; Eagles Academy – 2nd Place and Good Shepherd Primary – 3rd Place.

At the secondary level, Daryll Jordan came first, while second place went to St. Leonard’s Boys’ School and Coleridge and Parry School came third.??The prizes for BMEX will once again be sponsored by the BL&P.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries in both the primary and secondary categories and there is expected to be keen competition for the Most Innovative School Display, an award won by The Alleyne School last year.

The general public is encouraged to visit the Sugar Mill Room from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from May 14 to 16, to view the creative projects that were developed in the schools.
