Young people now have more time to share their vision on the future of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) – and have a chance at winning an Apple iPad, Nintendo Wii or Kindle.

This comes as the National Council for Science and Technology (NCST) extends the deadline for its essay competition to April.

The NCST, in collaboration with the Information Society of Barbados (ISB), has invited senior-level secondary school students, ages 14 to 18, to write on the topic: The Impact of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) on Barbados in the year 2020. ??

Essays must be between 1,000 and 1,500 words, with 1.5 line spacing.?? Each entry must be accompanied by a cover sheet, which lists the participant’s age, name and school.?? Entries must reach the offices of the NCST, Reef Road, Fontabelle, St. Michael no later than Friday, April 27.

For more information on the rules and conditions of the essay competition, interested persons may contact Senior Technical Officer with the NCST, Arlene Weekes at 427-1820 or visit the Council’s website at www.ncst.gov.bb.
