Barbados has once again come to the aid of a cruise line partner in need of assistance.

On Wednesday November 11, the Government of Barbados received a request for assistance from SeaDream I following reports of a suspected positive case of COVID-19 on board while at sea.

The vessel, carrying 53 passengers and 68 crew arrived in Barbados on Wednesday night, where they were met by port health officials who evaluated the situation and have been providing medical assistance.

There are seven confirmed cases on board the vessel. Owner’s representative for the line, Andreas Brynestad, in a statement released today said, “SeaDream is greatly appreciative of the Government of Barbados’ support and offer of medical resources to help us resolve this unfortunate situation. In our plans for our relaunch in the Caribbean we aligned ourselves with Barbados largely because we knew of Barbados’ reputation as a cooperative partner.”
