The Ministry of Labour continues to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS and its impact on the workforce by hosting a second ???whistle-stop’ bus tour next Wednesday, January 20.

The tour, entitled "It’s all about HIV/AIDS", will target some 60 businesses along the route of Boarded Hall, St. George to Six Roads, St. Philip. The event gets under way at 8:30 a.m.

Led by Project Coordinator in the Ministry of Labour, Rhonda Boucher, the team of ministry officials and peer educators, will seek to "spread the word" about safe sexual practices.

They will distribute literature and giveaways. Additionally, short talks and dramatic presentations will be done at selected stops.??

The touring party will visit several businesses and departments, starting with the District ???B’ Police Station at Boarded Hall, St. George and travelling to Chickmont Foods, Christ Church, at 9:00 a.m.

They will also journey to Slumberest, McBrides and other businesses in the Lowlands area, and from there travel to the Searles Factory Yard, R L Seale and the Cosmopolitan Complex at Six Roads, St. Philip, which houses several enterprises such as Chicken Galore and Knights Pharmacy Ltd.

The group will conclude the tour at the Emerald City Complex between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m., where they will hold a press briefing.

Last year, the touring party visited some 40 businesses and government departments located between Lears, St. Michael and Constant, St. George.
