Barbadians are invited to attend the second in a series of town hall meetings on Constituency Councils at The St. Michael School, Martindales Road, tomorrow, Wednesday, May 28, starting at 7:00 p.m.

These meetings, arranged by the Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Urban Development, are being held to give Barbadians the chance to make an input into how these councils are established.  They will assist Government in its plan “to bring about good governance in the further development of the country”.

By September of this year, at least six councils should be created, and another 24 are expected to follow soon after.

Other town hall meetings will take place on Sundays at 4:45 p.m. and on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. as follows:
Sunday, June 1 – Deighton Griffith, Kingsland, Christ Church;

Wednesday, June 4 – Springer Memorial School, Government Hill, St. Michael; Sunday, June 8 – Princess Margaret School, Six Roads, St. Philip;

Wednesday, June 11 – Lester Vaughan School, Cane Garden, St. Thomas;

Sunday, June 15 – Alleyne School, Belleplaine, St. Andrew;

Wednesday, June 18 – Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, Speightstown, St. Peter;

Sunday, June 22 – Grantley Adams Memorial School, Blackmans, St Joseph; Wednesday, June 25 – St. George Secondary School, Constant, St. George; and

Sunday, June 29 – St. Christopher Primary School, St. Christopher, Christ Church.
