In recognition of World Alzheimer???s Day on Sunday, September 21, the Barbados Alzheimer???s Association will host two public events next week.

The first is a seminar on ???Dementia: Can We Reduce The Risk???? which will be hosted in collaboration with the National Committee on Ageing on Wednesday, September 24, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael.

The seminar runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Speakers will include Dale Goldhawk, a Canadian broadcaster and Board member of the Alzheimer???s Society Canada and Mike Splaine, an advocate for health and long term care issues in Canada.

The second activity is a public lecture and panel discussion on dementia at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael on Thursday, September 25, starting at 7:00 p.m. Panelists include Dale Goldhawk, Dr. Ambrose Ramsay and president of the Barbados Alzheimer???s Association, Pamelia Brereton. All are invited.
