Tourism players will over the next three days gain greater insight into national destination branding and marketing.

The opportunity comes as the Barbados Port Inc., in collaboration with the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organization of American States, hosts a seminar on "Branding for Cruise Destinations".

Minister of International Transport, George Hutson, will deliver the feature address to officially open the seminar, tomorrow, Wednesday, September 8, at 9:00 p.m., at Hilton Barbados, Needhams Point, St .Michael.

The seminar, which will bring together industry leaders in tourism destination development and branding, will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

"Building a Culture of Innovation," "Branding a Cruise Region," and "Consensus Building," are among the themes to be addressed during the forum.

Two topics?? are on tomorrow morning’s agenda – "Global Tourism Trends and the Caribbean Market" and "Making Waves – Branding by Design", while the afternoon session will address the topic: "Making waves too: The Art of Storytelling".

Thursday morning’s theme is "Creating Innovative Destinations," while the afternoon session deals with the topic: "Branding from the Inside Out: Developing a Culture of Innovation".

The curtain will come down on the seminar on Friday, with sessions on "Marketing and developing the Branded Destination in the Global Market" and "Destination Branding: Presentation of Brand Solutions and Visions."??cgaskin@barbados.gov.bb
