Barbados??? Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean, held talks with Russian Ambassador, Nikolay Smirnov, recently at her Culloden Road, St. Michael office.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed matters of mutual interest, including issues related to climate change, disaster risk reduction, correspondent banking, Zika and Ebola.
Senator McClean, who is also Chairman of the 50th Anniversary of Independence Coordinating Committee, also updated Mr. Smirnov on plans to celebrate Barbados??? golden anniversary.
Barbados and The Russian Federation established diplomatic relations on January 29, 1993.
