The Ministry of Energy, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, is inviting all registered taxi drivers to a sensitisation event on the soon to be launched Pick-Up Passenger App and the Pick Up Driver App.

The event will be held next Friday, October 23, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, starting at 9:30 a.m.  Minister of Energy, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Kerrie Symmonds, will deliver remarks during the session and launch the App.

During the session, the operators will hear how the App, billed as a “taxi experience custom-built for the Barbadian community to deliver an efficient taxi solution through the inspired use of technology,” will ensure a safe secure and seamless connection between licensed taxi drivers and passengers.

Taxi operators are encouraged to come out and hear how this app will transform the sector and help their struggling business, which took a big hit as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Interested registered taxi operators are asked to register by Wednesday, October 21, by contacting Velda Harewod or Lynn Culpepper at 535-7700.

More information on the app can be found on the website https://pickupbarbados.com/.
