The month of July promises to be an exciting one for community independence celebrations, as the parishes of St. John and St. Peter host a series of events.

The activities will kick off on Saturday, July 4, when the St. John Parish Independence Committee holds a sponsored walk which begins at Gall Hill, St. John and travels along Four Roads, Villa Nova, Venture, Edgecliff, Clifton Hall, Church View, and ends at Martins Bay. That event will get under way at 6:00 a.m.

On the following day, Sunday, July 5, an environmental quiz will be held at the Pride of Wilson Hill Park, starting at 4:00 p.m. The competing teams will be the St. John PIC, and community groups, Pride of Wilson Hill Park and Mount Myia.

The best of talent from that parish will be on display on Saturday, July 11, when the Parish Talent Show comes off at the Gall Hill Community Centre at 5:30 p.m.
