In an effort to ensure proper management of shelters this hurricane season, the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, is continuing its training of shelter managers.
Shelter management workshops will be held at The Accra Beach Hotel and Spa, Rockley Christ Church, on Monday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 19.
The workshops will place emphasis on the effective running of a shelter; how to manage the facility to ensure compliance with rules and regulations and how to ensure the safety of a shelter’s population.
Chief Education Officer, Laurie King, who is also the Chief Shelter Warden, will address both workshops which will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The main workshop facilitators are trained Principals of Shelter Management from the USAID/OFDA/LAC-IRG. During the sessions, there will also be presentations from the Department of Emergency Management
