The Special Envoy for Persons with Disabilities, Roslyn Hurley, has issued an invitation to young women with disabilities to enter the third Shine Like A Diamond pageant slated for March 29, 2020.

The show, which will be part of the We Gatherin’ Barbados calendar, will be held at Sandals Royal Barbados, under the patronage of Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Cynthia Forde.  It is being staged in collaboration with the National Disabilities Unit.

Contestants should be aged 18 to 32, must be single and in good health.  Each contestant will make five appearances on the night of the competition – an introductory appearance, elegantly casual wear, evening wear, a performing talent and an interview. Professionals will be on hand to assist performers with their talent.

Application forms may be collected from the National Disabilities Unit, “Maxwelton”, Collymore Rock, and must be signed by the delegate and her parent or guardian. Applicants will then be interviewed, and once accepted as a contestant will receive an acceptance package.

For further information, interested persons may call the Special Envoy at 535-3600 or 231-7921, or email shinelikeadiamondct@gmail.com.
