The Vector Control Unit will push ahead with its mandate to rid the island of mosquitoes when it fogs six parishes next week.

The first of these will be Christ Church on Monday, December 9, when the team carries out fogging in Woodbourne, St. Patricks, Walronds, Fairview, Lowthers, Hopefield, Searles Village, Charnocks and the environs.

They will return to Christ Church the next day, Tuesday, December 10, to fog Kendal, Silver Hill, Silver Hill Housing Area, Maxwell Plains, Montrose and the surrounding districts.

On Wednesday, December 11, the Unit will tackle a number of areas in St. George, St. Thomas and St. Michael. They are: Arthur Seat, Brownes Gap, Jackson, Rockhampton, The Glebe, Valley Land, Walkers Park East, Rowans Park, Thorpes Cottage, Flat Rock and neighbouring areas.

The team will visit the following districts in St. Michael, St. Peter and St. Lucy on Thursday, December 12: Pine Hill, St. Barnabas, St. Barnabas Heights, Two Mile Hill, Battaley???s, Bovell Road, Mango Lane, Church Street, Queen Street, Speightstown, Greaves, Six Men???s, Half Moon Fort, Sunderland, Fyers Wall and the environs.

Fogging for the week will culminate in Christ Church and St. Michael on Friday, December 13, in Harts Gap with avenues, Dayrells Road, St. Matthias, Navy Gardens, Queen???s Way, Hastings, Beckles Road, St. Paul???s Avenue, Grant???s Avenue, Corday Avenue, Culloden Road, Lower Collymore Rock, Lower Bay Street, Dunlow Lane and the surrounding areas.

The Ministry of Health???s fogging programme runs from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. each day. Persons with respiratory ailments are reminded that they should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while children should desist from running behind the fogging vehicle.
