The Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology (SJPI) has announced that applications for the 2021-2022 academic year are now open, and will close at midnight on Friday, April 30.

For the first time, all applications will be done online via www.sjpi.edu.bb. No paper applications will be accepted. Additionally, applicants can upload a scanned copy or photograph of all relevant supporting documents, where applicable.

There will be no late application period, and all late application fees will be suspended.  Entrance examinations and interviews will also be conducted online.

In announcing the changes, Principal of the SJPI, Ian Drakes, said: “We are proud to announce these positive changes, which have been in the pipeline for some time, but have been fast-tracked because of the COVID-19 protocols and the need for social distancing.”

Mr. Drakes added that “the new systems will not only safeguard our applicants and staff, but will also make the process more convenient and efficient”.

The full list of programmes may be viewed on the SJPI’s website. For further information, applicants may email studentservices@sjpi.bb, or call 535-2200.

The Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology is the premier technical vocational training institution in Barbados, offering over 50 programmes and is committed to ensuring students can “enter work with skills”.
