The Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP) will officially launch its Blended Learning Initiative this Friday, January 22, in the Polytechnic???s auditorium at Wildey, St. Michael.

The event starts at 10:00 a.m., and will be addressed by Principal, Hector Belle, and Chairman of the Board, Desmond Browne. Instructor of Mechanical Engineering at the SJPP, Kevin Chapman, will also give an overview of the initiative.

Blended learning is an approach that strategically, systematically and effectively integrates a range of face-to-face, online, mobile, distance, open, social and other technology-enhanced learning across physical and virtual environments.

Since 2003, the SJPP has offered on-line training. However, from this year, the institution intends to place all of its courses online, making them accessible by all students. This, according to the SJPP, is expected to have an enormous impact on student learning.
