Aaron Millar, student of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP) has made history as the first student from that institution to receive a scholarship from a foreign university based solely on academic work.

The former Lodge School student was formally presented with his scholarship today from the Nova Scotia Community College in Canada, by Minister of Education and Human Resource Development, Ronald Jones, at the SJPP’s Wildey, St. Michael location.

In making the presentation, Mr. Jones congratulated him on his success and encouraged him to work hard at his chosen field of study, which is in Network Technologies.?? "Take your solid work background with you…work hard, you are an ambassador, you are the foundation stone as the first from your institution to receive a scholarship in this area," he advised.

The Minister added that he was pleased with the positive strides being made in Barbados in the area of education.????kmoore@barbados.gov.bb
