Stakeholders in the Skills For The Future programme will benefit from a workshop hosted by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (GOB/IDB) this Friday, March 22, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill. It gets under way at 9:00 a.m.

The stakeholders will hear first-hand how the programme will be executed over the next four years and those with specific responsibility for implementing aspects of the Skills For The Future program will better understand and appreciate the requirements of the IDB – the funding agency responsible for the programme.

The seminar will also seek to garner the necessary support and buy-in for the programme by providing participants with the opportunity to meet and interact with each other. Additionally, they will be introduced to the components, sub-components, and activities associated with the Skills For The Future programme.

There will be an overview of the execution of IDB projects in Barbados by the Operations Specialist, IDB, Christel Saab, who will also examine among others, the Competitiveness Project and Barbados’ Public Sector Smart Energy programme.

Senior Technical Officer from Partners of the Americas, Brooke Rosenbauer, and Country Coordinator for the soon to be launched A Ganar programme, Ytannia Wiggins, will speak on that programme’s implementation as well.

Meanwhile, Programme Director, Programme Coordinating Unit of the?? Education Ministry, Paul Murphy, along with the Operation Senior Associate, IDB, Natasha Boyce, will make a presentation on the Operations Manual for the Implementation of the Skills For The Future Programme.

Chief Education Officer (Ag), Karen Best will officially open the workshop.
