The Management of the central office of SOL has accepted responsibility for a recent pricing error at SOL Charles Row Bridge Auto-Mart, St. George.

This is according to the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) which today stated that on receiving a report regarding an unusual pricing of Sardines in Oil and Grace Corned Beef at SOL Charles Row Bridge Auto-Mart, St. George, it carried out an investigation on Thursday, April 23.

The investigation, it reported, showed that the unusual pricing resulted from an inadvertent administrative error made in the pricing system at SOL’s central office and was not a deliberate act on the part of the proprietor of the Sol Franchise at Charles Row Bridge.

The management of the central office of SOL has accepted responsibility for the error and has advised the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs that the prices of the Sardines in oil and the Grace Corned Beef, in question which were inadvertentlyretailed at $4.50 and $7.30 respectively, will be adjusted downwards.

The management of SOL has apologised for the error made and the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs is satisfied that the management of SOL will act in good faith and address the matter promptly.

SOL has informed the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs that the customers of SOL Retail Auto-mart at Charles Rowe Bridge who were affected by the error will be reimbursed the difference in price paid for the items purchased.

Affected customers should contact SOL at a dedicated Customer Service Number: 852-4763 or via WhatsApp at 852-4780. The company is currently reviewing all products and prices to ensure no further discrepancies occur.

The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs encourages all wholesalers and retailers of goods to pay special attention to their pricing policy and systems and to maintain, wherever possible, the pre-COVID-19 prices during this current pandemic and difficult period.
