Cultural exchange was one of the areas identified for further cooperation between Barbados and South Africa when Prime Minister Owen Arthur received a visit from that country’s High Commissioner, Faith Doreen Radebe, today at Government Headquarters.

The two officials discussed the possibility of South African artifacts being displayed among the African pieces on show at the Barbados Historical Museum, as well as featuring programmes produced by the South African Broadcasting Corporation on the state-owned Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation.

Mr. Arthur, who has responsibility for the culture and information portfolios, opined that the deepening of cultural relations between the two countries would be beneficial to “our children’s understanding” of the historical ties.
