Matters pertaining to tourism and agriculture were among the main points discussed, when the South Korean Ambassador, Yong Kyu Kwon, met recently with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean.

Looking forward to possible future collaborations, the Foreign Minister expressed interest in the two countries partnering on any upcoming projects. She also stated that she was looking forward to attending the Shanghai Expo, which will be held in July in China, as it was a "great way to promote Barbados".

The South Korean Ambassador in turn told Senator McClean that while in China she "should explore the possibility of visiting Korea, as it might prove to be beneficial".

In addition, the two officials examined their respective countries agricultural practices, with both parties examining the idea of a cultural exchange.??

Barbados and Korea established diplomatic relations on November 15, 1977.
