Persons with respiratory symptoms seeking medical care at polyclinics are advised that there are new arrangements in place, effective today, Wednesday, March 18.

On arrival at the polyclinic, persons are asked to indicate at the entrance that they are experiencing respiratory symptoms.  They must then follow the directions of staff, who will place them in a designated area of the clinic to be assessed.

This arrangement, which has been put in place in response to the implementation of Stage One of the COVID-19 Preparedness Plan, will remain in effect until further notice.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness advises that members of the public seeking further information should call the COVID-19 hotline at 536-4500.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has reiterated that persons experiencing flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough or difficulty breathing and who have been in one of the countries where there is community spread of COVID-19 during the previous 14 days, or who think they might have come into contact with someone who has, should call, and not visit the polyclinic or their private medical practitioner. They may also call the hotline at 536-4500 for advice.
