In an effort to assist with the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Twenty-20 World Cup Cricket tournament and rid the island of the Aedes Aygypti mosquito, the Ministry of Health will be executing a special fogging programme for Kensington Oval and its environs, from tomorrow.

Fogging starts at the Oval on, Saturday, April 24, from 7:30. until 10:00 a.m.

The exercise will continue in surrounding districts on Monday, April 26, Tuesday, April 27 and Thursday, April 29, from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m.

It will see the team from the Vector Control Unit fogging areas in St. Michael including 10th Ave New Orleans, Beckles Land, Pickwick Gap 1st to 4th Ave, Kensington New Road, Spencers Gap, Rock Gap, Hinkson Gap, Wharton Gap, Baxters Road, Marshall Gap and their environs.

The following day, Tuesday, April 27, the team will fog the St. Michael districts of Brighton Road, Brighton Terrace, Brighton Crescent, Carlton Terrace, Paradise Road and their surroundings.

There will be no fogging on Wednesday, April 28, National Heroes Day.

Fogging will culminate, on Thursday, April 29. The team will return to St. Michael and fog areas at Black Rock Main Road, Walmer Lodge, Prospect, Paynes Bay and environs.

Householders are asked to assist by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate. Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while pedestrians and motorists must proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.

Parents are instructed to prohibit children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
