Speightstown To ‘Come Alive’ This Saturday

The north of the island will ???come alive??? this Saturday, August 8, when the Barbados Tourism Product Authority hosts Speightstown Alive! in Speightstown, St. Peter, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Patrons will be treated to displays of Bajan art and craft and food; steel pan music and a tuk band; heritage bus tours; a children???s corner, as well as entertainment from artistes including Stedson ???Red Plastic Bag??? Wiltshire, Biggie Irie, Lil Rick and Hypasounds.??Everyone is invited.??

Traffic Arrangements For Speightstown Alive??

There will be no through traffic on Queen Street from its junction with Mango Lane to its junction with Church Street.

Vehicles travelling along Chapel Road towards Queen Street will be diverted at that road???s junction with Mango Lane.??On reaching the junction of Mango Lane and Queen Street, vehicles will only be allowed to turn left on to Queen Street.

Vehicles travelling west on Church Street towards Queen Street will only be allowed to turn left on to Sand Street.??Patrons to Jordan???s Supermarket must enter and exit the supermarket through its southern entrance, and should turn right on to Queen Street after exiting the supermarket.??The BTPA thanks the public for its cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience caused.??
