Sports fanatics are encouraged to come out to the Sporting Clubs of Barbados Expo and All Stars Basketball Encounter, this Saturday, November 29, at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.

It will begin with an opening ceremony at 10:00 a.m., at which Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Stephen Lashley, will give an address.

Organised by the Gymnasium Ltd., in collaboration with the National Sports Council, the all-day event will feature booths highlighting various sports, as well as their associations and federations.

In addition, three seminars will be held throughout the day on the topics: Achieving Sporting Excellence through Good Health Management; Road Tennis: An Indigenous Game of Class and Style; and the Business of Sports.

An outdoors Fun Village will feature jumping tents, face painting and activities for adults and children. There will be cars on display from the Motoring Federation and the Barbados Auto Racing League.

The expo will conclude at 5:00 p.m., and after that, the All Stars Basketball Encounter will commence. At 6:30 p.m., Mr. Lashley will accept a gift of new basketball rings on behalf of Government from a delegation from the People???s Republic of China.

The presentation will be followed by the Celebrity Basketball Charity Shoot-out, where several popular persons, including the Sports Minister, will ???shoot hoops??? to raise funds for charity. Each successful shot is worth BDS$125.
