The Sanitation Service Authority has advised the public that there will be changes to household collections on Monday, August 1, Kadooment Day, and Tuesday, August 2, Emancipation Day.

Next Monday, collections will be made to the northern and southern sections of the island, while on Tuesday there will be collections for City East and City West districts.??

Northern parishes are: St. Lucy, St. Peter, St. James, St. Andrew, St. Thomas and St. Joseph, while southern parishes are:?? St. John, St. George, St. Philip, and the Eastern section of Christ Church.

City East districts comprise the areas from the bottom of Rendezvous Hill to the Garfield Sobers Roundabout; St. Barnabas, inclusive of the Pine; Norman Niles Roundabout left on to My Lord’s Hill; Bridge Road, left at Hindsbury on to Queen’s Park, then?? circle back to Bay Street, then onto Rendezvous.

City West is made up of the remainder of the St. Michael districts.

Although cemeteries will be closed on Kadooment Day, and Emancipation Day, the Mangrove Pond Landfill will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on these days.

Persons are also reminded to freeze all offal until the time of collection.
