The St. Andrew Parish Independence Committee will host a number of events throughout August, in celebration of its Parish Month.

The activities begin on Sunday, August 4, with a Sports and Family Fun Day, at the Belleplaine Pasture, Belleplaine, from noon until 7:30 p.m. This will be followed by the semifinals of a karaoke competition from 8:00 p.m. until midnight.

On Friday, August 9, persons are encouraged to wear the parish’s colour, Forest Green, for what has been named, Parish Colour Day. The committee will host a church service at the Alleyne School, Belleplaine, on Sunday, August 11, from 4:00 p.m.

A few days later, on Friday, August 16, there will be a Moonlight Picnic and Karaoke Finals, at the Barclays National Park, East Coast Road, from 6:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.

A walk and hike will be held on Sunday, August 25, beginning at 5:00 a.m., from Belleplaine. The committee will hold a Crab Night, on Friday, August 30, at Long Pond, from 6:00 p.m.

The month of activities will come to a close with the Ermie Bourne Memorial Lecture, on Saturday, August 31, at 7:00 p.m., at the Alleyne School.
