As part of its community outreach efforts, St. Boniface Nursery School will be visiting the Gordon Cummins District Hospital on Friday, February 12.

The students will present a Valentine’s programme to residents at the institution in Rock Hall, St. Thomas, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The effort is in keeping with one of the goals of the school ???to be a beacon in the community???. And, this year, with the school???s theme being Communication, a contingent of pupils will communicate love to others through this specially planned outreach.

It will take the form of a mini-concert which will see students singing love songs and presenting tokens of hearts and flowers to residents of the institution. There will also be a presentation on behalf of the principal and staff to the District Hospital???s Principal Nursing Officer, by teacher, Sylvia Bridgeman.

???Our senior citizens have made valuable and significant contributions to our country during their years, and we have chosen to honour them at this special time. This programme will also serve to inculcate within our pupils respect, appreciation and love for our seniors,??? said Mrs. Bridgeman, who is also coordinator of the event.

This is the third in a series of outreach programmes conducted by St. Boniface Nursery School, which began in 2014 with a visit to the elderly in the school???s Sion Hill, St. James, neighbourhood.??
