January is parish month for St. George and everyone is invited to celebrate with that district by supporting its many activities.

The events are being hosted by the St. George Parish Independence Committee in association with the St. George Development Committee.

On Wednesday, January 21, and Thursday, January 22, the Bread Basket Three Hand Domino Tournament will be played at the James Bryan Complex, Market Hill.

The finals will be held on Saturday, January 24, at the Valley Resource Centre. The tournament will start at 7:30 each night.??

Players will compete for the ultimate prize of $2,000. Registration forms and the competition rules may be collected from the James Bryan Complex and the Valley Resource Centre. The deadline for registration is Monday, January 19.

Also on Wednesday, January 21, at 5:00 p.m., the St. George Lions will play a 20/20 cricket game against the Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat (CICS) at the James Bryan Complex.??Then on Saturday, January 24, residents are encouraged to participate in an exercise workout at the St. George Parish Church Car Park at 6:00 a.m.

Activities will climax on Saturday, January 31, with all-day Artist Expression entitled: Under the Shadows of Bulkeley, at the Bulkeley Sugar Factory, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. The event will feature visual artists, sculptors, writers, dancers, musicians, singers and other performers.

Persons interested in showcasing their craft and talents at the Artist Expression: Under the Shadows of Bulkeley, must register by Thursday, January 22. Entry forms may be collected from and returned to the Ellerton Community Centre, James Bryan Complex, or the Glebe Resource Centre, on or before the deadline.
