The St. George South Constituency Council will be staging a Community Farming Project for its constituents beginning Monday, June 17.

Residents of the Todds, Dash Valley, Greens, South District, Ellerton, Boarded Hall, Drax Hall and Workmans communities are invited to apply for the pilot project, which aims to assist small farmers in returning their idle land to production.

Applicants must have legal access to land which is suitable for kitchen gardening and should have a working knowledge of planting and reaping short-term crops. Persons must also be willing to commit to the endeavour for a minimum of eight weeks.

To apply, interested persons may contact the Council’s office at 435-4463, or any member of the Council.
