Residents in St. John are being encouraged to come out and support the Parish Independence Committee as it hosts a number of community-oriented activities.

On Saturday, September 12, and Saturday, September 19, respectively, the committee members, in collaboration with B’s Bottle and Recycling Depot, will clean up the districts of Venture, Sherbourne and Cherry Grove.

The events will continue on Sunday, September 20, with a church service at St. Marks Anglican Church, St. John. There will also be a treasure hunt at Kendal and a pork lime hosted by the College Savannah Group, at College Savannah on Saturday, September, 26.

Reducing our Carbon Footprint is the theme of the Environmental Expo, which will be held on the Gall Hill Hard Courts on Saturday, October 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.??

During the session, there will be presentations by the stakeholders on organic farming; organic methods of pest and weed control and natural methods of skin and body care.

The activities will culminate with the parish project judging at the Gall Hill Community Centre, on Sunday, October 4.
