As part of their community outreach project – Educate to Mitigate, the St. Lucy District Emergency Organisation (DEO), will be visiting a number of summer camps in that parish, from tomorrow, Tuesday, July 19.
Youth at the camps will be shown video tapes on disaster preparedness, as well as a presentation on using The Children Handbook for Disaster Preparedness.
There will also be a question and answer session after the presentation and campers will be given gifts for their participation. These will include notebooks, torch lights, and wrist bands, compliments of Island Heritage Insurance.??
The first session will take place at Half-Moon Fort Primary School, beginning at 9:30 a.m.; while Ignatius Byer Primary will be the venue for the second session, starting at 11:15 a.m.
