St. Lucy will celebrate its parish month with a series of activities throughout July.

The events start on Sunday, July 4, with a church service at the Fustic Wesleyan, Sutherland Hill, St. Lucy, starting at 8:30 a.m. while on the following Sunday, July 11, the St. Lucy Parish Independence Committee (PIC) will host a Mother’s Union Concert at the St. Lucy Parish Church, Nestfield, St. Lucy at 4:00 p.m.

One of the highlights of the parish month will be a talent show on Saturday, July 17, at the Ignatius Byer Primary School, Lowlands, St. Lucy, starting at 5:30 p.m. It will showcase some of the most promising talent from within the parish.?? Winners will go on to represent St. Lucy at the Spirit of the Nation show in November.

The activities conclude with a heritage walk/tour on Saturday, July 31, starting at 6:30 a.m. It begins at the St. Lucy Parish Church and travels to the Old Parry School Monument, Fairfield Sugar Factory, the Old Slave Hut in Bourbon and culminates at Maycock’s Forte.
