Past and present students and teachers of the St. Michael School, bade a fond farewell to Deputy Principal Noel Gittens, yesterday, during a ceremony at the school’s Martindales Road location. Mr. Gittens retired this week, after over 30 years at that institution.

The retirement function took the form of a dramatic presentation of a ???court in session,’ with ???magistrates’, ???judges’ and ???jurors’ all praising Mr. Gittens for his sterling leadership, spiritual insight and persistence in nurturing?? standards of excellence. There were also performances in liturgical song and dance.??

In his address to the gathering, Mr. Gittens said the school represented the very best of Barbadian society and thanked the principal, staff and students for their well-wishes and encouraged them to continue to promote the values of excellence and hard work that had made the school a beacon in the society.

An avid cricket enthusiast, the former Deputy Principal was also lauded for his contribution to the school in the field of languages.??clashley@barbados.gov.bb
