Local stakeholders in the??upcoming International Cricket Council’s Twenty20 Cricket competition listen attentively to a presentation.

Representatives from the key agencies involved in staging the upcoming International Cricket Council’s Twenty20 Cricket competition, met last Saturday at Kensington Oval to streamline plans for the Barbados leg of the tournament.

Officials outlined how government agencies are working in conjunction with the Local Organising Committee to ensure that "everything runs smoothly".

Departments represented included Customs and Immigration, Transport and Traffic Management, Emergency Management, the Barbados Cricket Association, Kensington Oval Management Incorporated, and the Royal Barbados Police Force. Additionally, there were also representatives of the Ministries of Health, Culture, Tourism, Foreign Affairs and Youth, Family and Sports.

The cricket competition will run from April 30 to May 16 in four territories: Barbados, Guyana, St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Lucia. It will feature a new concept dubbed ???sportainment’, which will see more of a Caribbean flavor being integrated into the off-field events.

The seven tournament sponsors are: Pepsi, Reliance Mobile, Hero Honda, LG Emirates, Yahoo, Reebok and the broadcast partner ESPN. The Barbados Tourism Authority is the Local Partner.
