Over the next two weeks, the Board and Management of the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) will meet with various stakeholders to get their feedback on how this year’s Crop Over Festival could be enhanced.
The series of meetings will begin next Monday, January 31, at 5:30 p.m. for promoters and event planners, with the one for tent managers following at 8:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, February 1, the calypsonians will gather for 5:30 p.m., while the members of the Junior Monarch, Festival and Soca Royale Bands will assemble for 8:00 p.m.
The turn of the artisans, visual artists and craft persons will be on Wednesday, February 2, at 6:00 p.m., while the tent bands and background vocalists will have theirs on Thursday, February 3, at 5:30 p.m. The vendors’ meeting will follow at 8:00 p.m. on that day.
Masqueraders and Grand and Junior Kadooment band leaders will have an opportunity to express their views on Friday, February 4, at 6:00 p.m.
The following week, on Monday, February 7, the junior calypsonians or their representatives will converge for a 5:30 p.m. meeting, while the youth organisations will gather at 8:00 p.m.
Soca, tuk and steel bands and folk groups will meet on Tuesday, February 8, at 6:00 p.m. Dancers, choreographers and make-up artists will come together on Wednesday, February 9, at 5:30 p.m., while lighting, stage, sound, decoration and electrical providers will have their say at 8:00 p.m.
The final meetings will be on Thursday, February 10, for media workers at 5:30 p.m. and the management of artistes at 8:00 p.m.
All meetings will be held at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed and the various stakeholder groups are being encouraged to attend and express their views as the NCF seeks to make this year’s festival bigger and better.??
