Chief Education Officer, Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw. (FP)

Statement from Chief Education Officer Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw on arrangements for St. Giles & St. Stephen’s Nursery Schools.

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training (METVT) is informing staff, parents and guardians of the following arrangements for two nursery schools:

St. Giles Nursery School

Following discussions with the National Petroleum Corporation (NPC) on Tuesday, March 21, concerning ongoing external environmental issues affecting staff and students of the St. Giles Nursery School, the METVT has determined that, from tomorrow, Wednesday, March 22, the St. Giles Nursery School will be relocated temporarily to the auditorium of the Maria Holder Government Hill Nursery School at Government Hill, St Michael.

This relocation will continue until the end of the term, April 5.

The Principal of the St. Giles Nursery School has informed that the “Before School” programme will continue as usual from 7:00 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. at this new location.

Additional information on the nursery school will be provided to parents/guardians in due course.

St. Stephen’s Nursery School

From tomorrow, Wednesday, March 22, reception students of the St. Stephen’s Nursery School will no longer be required to report for classes at the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Black Rock.  However, school sports will occur on Friday, March 24, at Queen’s College, Husbands, St. James, as previously organised.

Teachers from the nursery school will be in contact with parents/guardians tomorrow, to organise the work for the next two days.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to listen for further updates on the reopening of the St. Stephen’s Nursery School, following environmental assessments from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training regrets any inconvenience caused by these arrangements.
