The Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management, has responded to comments issued in the local press regarding the importation of chicken wings.
The statement is as follows: ???The Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management wishes to make it clear, that the Poultry and Egg Producers and Marketing Committee is a consultative committee of stakeholders, and has no legal authority over any of the entities under Government, e.g., the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation.
Consequently, it is false to give the impression that the Stakeholders??? Committee, which is the Poultry and Egg Production and Marketing Committee, can bind, instruct, or overturn the policy of the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation, which is a Statutory Corporation, or any other authorised entity of Government.???
