The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation has made significant progress with the investigation into the results of candidates who wrote the Caribbean Examinations Council May/June examinations in 2017.

While there have been concerns in several sections of the community, the Ministry is satisfied that the schools, officials of CXC and officers of the Ministry have undertaken the steps necessary to ensure that all candidates who have met the criteria for the award of certificates will receive their grades.

The Ministry has found that a variety of reasons underpin the circumstances in which some candidates were awarded ungraded results in the preliminary results issued following the correction of examination scripts. CXC has been very cooperative and accommodating in facilitating the review of ungraded results.

The Caribbean Examinations Council is continuing to work with the Ministry to ensure that all candidates who have satisfied the three components of assessment for the award of certificates receive those certificates.

The Ministry wishes to publicly commend CXC on the professional and expeditious manner in which its officials have addressed the various concerns raised as a result of this year’s examinations.
